Standardising safety across global manufacturing through immersive training
Coca-Cola wanted to create a global safety training programme aligned to their ‘Zero is Possible’ initiative, embedding a mindset of zero safety incidents across their supply chain.
Previously, training was delivered in person through role-play and simulations, making it costly, slow to scale, and difficult to deliver consistently across regions. COVID further highlighted the need for a digital solution that could retain hands-on learning.
Training was also seen as too academic and not engaging. To drive real behavioural change, Coca-Cola needed a high-impact, memorable experience that would inspire action.
Gemba partnered with Coca-Cola to design and deliver a VR-based safety training programme, underpinned by Lean principles.
Interactive learning content was created around 14 life-saving rules, linking directly to behavioural change and measurable outcomes, combining immersive VR with real-world application.
Participants were able to learn by doing, using VR as an extension of their working environment, supported by a seamless onboarding experience to ensure confidence and ease of use.
