The Challenge

As a $7.6 billion global company, Kohler needed to standardise their Operating System by embedding cultural values across the workforce. By diversifying their training program, they could get their associates reading from the same playbook without the need for travel.

Gemba’s Learning experts consulted with Kohler’s leaders to identify key training programs that needed to be upgraded, and target training participants. Together, a strategic plan was developed, starting with NA sites to establish a foundation for change.

With strong logistics support, a comprehensive Design and Learning Journey was agreed upon, and Phase 1 could begin.

Phase 1 has established the infrastructure for scaling to further learners across the company and drive business impact.

The Results

Kohler’s first training session received an NPS of 100, with participants saying that the training motivated them to ‘participate more openly than in a face-to-face group’. Gemba’s Train-the-Trainer program was rated 9/10 by participants, stating that it provided ‘good exposure to learning the critical aspects of training in a VR environment’.

The foundations for a Global VR Operating System have been established…and that’s just the beginning.

Tracking ROI across the initial five training sessions alone has shown the potential for exponential savings as the programme expands to cover Kohler’s global workforce.

With Gemba’s strategic learning and logistics experts, Kohler is planning a smooth, streamlined rollout of their VR training programme across NA and APAC in 2024 and beyond.
